A Lifetime Commitment
At Diamonds and Doggies, we encourage prospective owners to do research before getting a puppy. Puppies are a lifetime commitment, they require a lot of care, dedication, and love. There is some truth to the old adage that having a puppy is much like having a baby.
Before purchasing your furry baby, make sure you spend some time researching the breed of your interest - different breeds have different care requirements, and may be prone to specific health issues. After you've done your research, come in and meet your puppy. We are always more than happy to bring a puppy you are interested in to a play area so you may spend some time with them.
Keep in mind that puppies personalities and temperament develop as they're growing - and as they become more comfortable. A puppy may be calmer during meetings in-store, only to gain more energy and excitement once they're home. This is normal. We do NOT use any kinds of sedatives on the puppies.
While the puppies are in our care, they will receive all of their age appropriate vaccines, and routine check-ups to make sure that they are healthy. After they go home, it will be your responsibility to schedule a first vet visit with a Veterinarian of your choice, keep up with their vaccines, and spay/ neuter them.
We recommend that you ask your Veterinarian about a free 30-day trial of Trupanion pet insurance, which covers 50% of Veterinarian bills.
Our skilled Team Members and Vet Tech will be more than glad to assist you and answer any questions you have about any specific puppy or breed.
